Let's Play Café’ mission is to create a welcoming, thoughtfully designed play café where children ages 0–12 can explore and grow through imaginative, inclusive play, while caregivers relax, connect, and recharge in a warm, community-centered environment.

ABOUT US

MEET THE FOUNDER

Let’s Play Café was founded by Susan Costigan — a behavioral therapist, educator, and mom who believes play should be joyful, inclusive, and thoughtfully designed for real life.

With over 20 years of experience working with children from infancy through young adulthood, Susan has spent her career supporting both neurotypical and neurodivergent children across homes, schools, clinics, and community settings. Her work is rooted in evidence-based, play-centered approaches that help children build confidence, connection, and essential skills — all through experiences that feel natural and fun.

Over the past several years, Susan has also led and supervised teams of clinicians and educators, developing inclusive programming, training staff, and supporting families through every stage of early childhood and beyond. Her background in child development, sensory-friendly environments, and positive behavior strategies directly shapes how Let’s Play Café is designed and run — from the layout of the play space to the classes and experiences offered.

Beyond her clinical expertise, Susan brings a creative eye and a love for design. With hands-on experience in event planning, décor, and custom celebrations, she envisioned a play café that feels elevated, welcoming, and genuinely enjoyable for families. From beautifully styled birthday parties to thoughtfully curated play experiences, every detail is intentional.

Most importantly, Susan is a mom of two energetic boys — and Let’s Play Café was born from her own experience navigating play spaces as a parent. She wanted a place where kids could explore freely, caregivers didn’t have to constantly say “no,” and everyone could relax and actually enjoy being there.

That vision became Let’s Play Café:
a space where kids thrive through play, caregivers get a real break, and expertise quietly supports every experience.

EDUCATORS AND CLINICIANS

Our Lead Play Educator is at the heart of our weekly programming, leading most of our ongoing classes and group experiences. Through themed activities, songs, movement, crafts, and play-based learning, children build social skills, independence, and confidence while having fun in a supportive, community-centered space.

PLAY EDUCATOR

Our Occupational Therapist leads engaging, play-based classes designed to support fine motor development, sensory processing, and everyday functional skills. Activities may include hands-on experiences like making play dough or slime, sensory play, crafts, and movement-based activities that help children build strength, coordination, and confidence—all through fun, meaningful play.

Occupational Therapist

Our Psychologist offers group-based classes focused on emotional regulation, coping skills, and social-emotional learning. These therapy-informed groups may include activities centered around identifying emotions, building resilience, managing big feelings, and practicing calming strategies in a supportive, age-appropriate environment.

Psychologist

Our Speech-Language Pathologist leads social skills-focused groups that help children build communication, interaction, and perspective-taking skills. Through games, board games, role-play, and themed activities, children practice skills such as reading the room, understanding social cues, turn-taking, flexible thinking, and navigating peer interactions—all in a fun, low-pressure setting.

Speech-Language Pathologist

Classes and groups are enrichment-based and designed to support skill development through play.

They are not intended to replace individualized therapy services.
